Sound designer and composer Gerrit Elbrink has been releasing freely downloadable tracks for the Humanworkshop internet collective ever since it came into existence in the year 2000. Back in Space features a selection of these experiments, and in it's totality gives a clear overview of Gerrit's musical alter ego “Leisure-B”.
Unlike other releases, Back in Space is a gradual process, constantly updated to the latest trend in Leisure's work. Like in a portfolio, all tracks have their own uniqueness and production technique. Some have been carefully arranged and produced, some are the result of spontaneous live performances and others are the result of collaborations with other artists from the Humanworkshop collective.
The result is a mixture of all decent styles modern electronic music has to offer. From Bonobo-ish melodic breaks to Justice-like electro, Leisure sweeps the floor with all dogmas in the genre. A must hear for anyone who wants to stay up-to-date with nowadays experimental music.
